Kids participate in Kidz-R-Cookin's "Smoothie Explosion Workshop"

Kidz-R-Cookin is Virginias premier healthy traviling cooking school! Their classes our hands-on, fun and educational. Students prepared smoothies and learned about the benefits of healthy eating and a healthy lifestyle. Studies have shown that children are more likely to try new things when they are introduced in a non-threatening and fun way. Thats what Kidz-R-Cookin is all about. The kids all had a blast and didn't want the workshop to end. They chose between 12 different smoothies and a variety of smoothie toppings that included whip cream, ginger, cinnamon and pumkin spice. All kids were able to drink their self-prepared smoothies and also recieved their own recipes to prepare at home.

Vigilant Mindz, Inc "It's About You 2010" Health and Wellness Community Fair

Vigilant Mindz, Inc conducted their first annual "It's About You" 2010 Health and Wellness Community Fair Saturday June 5, 2010 at Woodville Elementary, Richmond, Va. 2000 N. 28th St. 23223. The fair lasted from 10am-1pm and offered a wide range of vendors that included VCU Health Systems, RBHA, FAMIS, Kool Smiles, Virginia Department of Health, Richmond Ambulance Authority, Richmond Department of Fire and Rescue, Boys and Girls Club, Kidz-R-Cookin, Platinum Health Solutions, Family Face2Face Services and Sisters Network, Inc. In addition to the health services offered, there was a live DJ playing music, a moonbounce for the kids, food, drinks and multiple raffle drawings for prize giveaways. Judging by the feedback we recieved from participants the fair was a huge success! We at Vigilant Mindz, Inc. definitely wanna express our deepest gratitude for the orginizations that participated in the fair, as well as all those who attended. We definitely look forward to bringing the fair back next year!
